Clermont County Humane Society will no longer operate Clermont County Animal Shelter

BATAVIA, OHIO. (December 18, 2014) – After 57-years of outstanding service and care of abused, unwanted and neglected animals, the Clermont County Humane Society will cease operations of the Clermont County Animal Shelter, located at 4025 Filager Road in Batavia, on December 31, 2014. The Clermont County Humane Society has just learned that the Board of Clermont County Commissioners (Ed Humphrey, Bob Proud, and David Uible) has awarded the contract to operate the facility to another organization beginning January 1, 2015.  This new organization has no affiliation with our staff or board members.

Effective immediately, the shelter will no longer accept stray or owner surrendered animals at the Batavia shelter.  Please contact the shelter at 732-8854 for assistance in locating other animal rescue organizations that can help you locate services for animals in your care.

Additionally, the Clermont Humane Society is in urgent need of loving forever homes for animals currently at the shelter.  Through the end of the year, please stop by the shelter during regular hours of operation to visit with and consider adopting one of the wonderful dogs or cats that need a new place to call home.  Special adoption rates apply.

The Clermont County Humane Society would like to thank the many volunteers and donors who have worked with us over the years at the shelter.  While the Humane Society will no longer operate the Batavia shelter, officers of the organization will meet in early 2015 to determine how the organization will continue its mission of fostering the adoption of unwanted animals and enforcing the humane treatment of all animals.

The Clermont County Humane Society, established in 1957, is located at 4025 Filager Road in Batavia.  For more information about the shelter and the wonderful cats and dogs available for adoption, visit the website or call (513) 732-8854.
